Hi, I’m Dave Crawford and I’d like to welcome
you to Glosshaus and thank you for spending time here. This
section talks a bit about me and how GlossHaus came about.
For those of you who want the short version – it is
provided. A longer version is here for those of you who are
interested.
Short Version
I started GH after people from all over the globe also told
me I should bottle what I use to restore tired, old paint
back to a better than new appearance. I have had great deal
of fun helping enthusiast’s all over the country restore
their existing paint to nearly new gloss that is seemingly
miraculous.
You won’t find a GlossHaus shine in a jar of $150
wax purported to be derived from the DNA of South American,
dew-kissed frog spit. Gorgeous pools of deep gloss emerge
from beneath hazy, dull, chalky and badly scratched layers
of ugliness because of the right “process” and
some good old fashioned work. The Glosshaus method delivers
foot-deep gloss “results” by using a discrete
set of products, tools, accessories and knowledge in a defined
sequence of steps. No single jar of magic elixir or type
of pad will bring about the result that most enthusiasts
want. I started GH to offer an alternative to the confusing
array of bottles of stuff available at most auto parts stores
and websites. I offer only the highest quality ingredients,
along with the appropriate recipe for car enthusiasts to
bring out the best shine possible. I am here to help you
spend your money on something that works, rather than spending
your $$ over and over again on exotic sounding products that
just don’t give you what you want.

Buy once and never stand on the Wax/Polish aisle scratching
your head again.

Long Version
I started GH to ratchet-up the fun factor in my work life
and as a final farewell to the whims and vicissitudes of
corporate life. I now have the perfect excuse to attend every
car show I can, to visit and talk with car people about motors,
transmissions, differentials, turbos, wheels and enjoy friendships – new
and old. In fact, the picture that I’ve chosen as my
signature pic was taken by a very good friend of mine in
Phoenix, as I loaded a motor of his in the trunk of my vintage
5series BMW. Thanks Tony for the motor and all the clients
to which you bragged about my work!
Speaking of special people, allow me a few spare words to
thank Ginny Farrar Crawford for her love, encouragement, advice
and hard work in helping me take a thought to reality. You
will see Ginny and I at events all over the country. Ginny
is the President of GlossHaus, not to mention being a gypsy,
an artist, a Nebraska farm girl (still owns two farms there)
and a die-hard car enthusiast. Ginny and I met at a vintage
BMW car show on 02-02-2002.  When
I joined Ginny, rather than immediately cook me a great meal,
she took me on a tour of all the quality junk yards in the
San Francisco Bay Area and showed me where all the good stuff
could be found. On top of that, she loves road trips and can
drive anything with a steering wheel and a shift lever (a
lot of tractor experience). How good is that? But enough about
Ginny and I – on to GlossHaus. So you’ll know
us on sight, here’s a pic of Ginny and I.
So about GlossHaus: It seems like ages ago, my twin sons
and I were trained by a good friend to bring a tremendous
shine to old, tired paint. I subsequently developed my own,
milder system to automotive paint restoration. I’ve
used this method to dramatically restore the paint on cars
across the country. Clients from across the country have
had me travel to their homes and high-end shops to apply
my methods to dramatically restore a like-new finish to their
paint. Client remarks such as, “It never looked this
good when new”, OR, “this car should be hanging
in an art museum”, OR “This can’t be the
same car!” have been flattering and frequent. Upon
seeing the refinished car of a GlossHaus client, an associate
of my client couldn’t believe that the car he was looking
at was not a fresh paint job. Admirers of the GlossHaus System
have emailed and called to implore me to bottle, box and
sell my system. I took them seriously.
What I do for my clients is give them a process steeped
in practical advice and know-how about refinishing their
paint. This process is hard won and comes from a great deal
of experience and a lot of sweat equity – not poured
from a bottle or dipped from a paste jar.
Many of my clients often remark about being dismayed by the
dizzying array bottles at the “____Zone” or “____Boys” auto
parts store. Of course, manufacturers of new equipment and
supplies also promise to revolutionize the care of the enthusiast’s
car finish. Take a look at any website devoted to finish
care and you’ll oodles and oodles of bottles and equipment.
There are so many confusing choices in products, equipment
and paraphernalia available on which you can spend your money,
with outcomes far from certain.
I’ve come to find out that most people want the RESULT.
They don’t want to, as a friend of mine did, to spend
hundreds of $$ only to come to the realization that the result
is still not theirs.
I have distilled the fundamental know-how needed, and presented
it, in a no-nonsense way, so that any DIY enthusiast can
achieve near perfection. I have assembled a discrete set
of equipment, products and know-how to help car enthusiasts
enjoy stunning results for themselves. I have spent countless
days all over the country in shop bays, client’s garages
and under big shade trees in solitary, focused effort to
perfect the GlossHaus method. My business is about sharing
this method with you. If the existing paint is in tact and
fundamentally sound, I can help you restore a gloss that
will have you walking backwards in a parking lot so you can
admire your rolling piece of art.
For less than the price of a new set of tires, or a fraction
of the cost of a new paint job, you’ll be amazed at
the result. Be forewarned though, your wife, significant
other and friends will line up for a full treatment. Take
lots of pics of your handiwork and send them to us. We’ll
post what we can and give you props you deserve.
As a car guy, I am continually in awe of the cars the benefit
from the GlossHaus System. Lots of Smiles,
Wows and Holy Smokes (something like that). Clients often
remark that the GH treatment is the best money
they’ve spent on their treasured cars. I think you
